Give him a break- he was voiced by a woman! XD Believe me, I'm very familiar with June Foray's voice, and that's as low as she gets. I think they're about the same register in both the movie and the ride, at least when it comes to his laugh... Actually, I can't say with complete certainty whether or not June Foray recorded Wheezy's two spoken lines. It's definitely her doing his laugh, but his two lines are so buried underneath the rest of the soundtrack that I can't easily recognize them as her voice. The two of them sound very different from each other as well. It's unlikely that somebody else did them, but you never know... One of his lines in the ride, as you may have noticed, is significantly more strained and choked than the others. It seems that Disney decided that it was too weird or something, but didn't bother to rerecord it, probably because of the less-than-ideal budget.

all i'm saying is, he sounded like a guy in the movie, but he sounds more like a girl in the ride. I, too, am very familiar with June Foray's vocal work, and I am SURE she did his lines in the movie (you can especially tell when he says "Move it!" ... and now I'm going to picture him dancing like King Julien... ) i didn't notice...probably because my sister was blaring "Windwaker" in the background while i was trying to hear it...I'll listen for it when i listen to it again..wow, was that badly worded... *shrug*

See, now when he says "Let's go!" he sounds more like a guy than I've ever heard June Foray do. That's why I'm not certain. Of course, I don't claim to have heard every single role June Foray's ever played... Still, his lines in the ride give us a much clearer idea of what Wheezy's voice is like. I suppose if one was going to be a purist, he'd have a June Foray-like voice that was even lower than what she does in the ride. He sounds like Gollum with a sore throat to me when he says "Move it!", actually...

The trouble is that both Smarta** and Wheezy move their lips to that line, it doesn't sound like Smarta**, and Smarta**'s line "They jumped the cab!" overlaps the words "Let's go!" Honestly, what more can June Foray do? I don't think anybody can say with absolute certainty who it is that says "Let's go!" because of the weird lip movement. Heck, you can't see Wheezy's lips move when he says "Move it!", etc., and I'm not even sure they're meant to be words- they're so distant. I don't think there's much point in arguing about it.

So now I know how Wheezy sounds, and that "Let's go" part could be mistake. They did animate him correctly, but the voice just doesn't belong to him. Or he coughed up enough smoke to talk normal-_-that's just personal thought lol We can just let it slide now cuz they're cool anyways!! And Greasy...TT. At least he talks a lot and stays to character. Smarty is the best here! But why did they take Doom out? Because it will spoil too much of the movie plot for people who haven't seen it? Still it's kinda cool (or is it worse?) to see 5 of them in charge of all those evil plan, though.

I don't really know why they didn't use Doom- too scary, perhaps? The ride's pretty creepy as it is. Personally I like to think that Doom came up with the plan and that it's Smarta**'s job to get it executed. Doom, I think, hasn't come into the public eye yet, and when he bought his way into the position of judge, he pretended that the Toon Patrol had turned over a new leaf. That's my pet theory, anyway.

i'm sorry, i wasn't trying to argue... i think they didn't use Doom because they'd either have to make him Baron VonRotten, which few ppl would get, or they'd have to make him a wax figure or something...which may not turn out so well.

I doubt the Imagineers knew anything about Baron von Rotten... God, if Disney makes a prequel, I pray they don't contradict that comic. That'd be like those Lion King books that featured Simba's son, and then they made Kiara for the second movie.

Why shudder? They're surprisingly good stories with a lot of previously unknown backstories, although admittedly the son himself is kind of bland. My point is that according to Disney, that son doesn't exist due to the fact that whoever made the movie most likely had no knowledge of him, despite the quality of the stories and the fact that they decided who the cub was at the end of the original movie before the sequel came out. If Disney were to make a prequel about Judge Doom's origins, and completely disregarded The Resurrection of Doom, it'd be same thing, and much worse. You see, it's easy enough to explain/theorize why that son of Simba's isn't in the sequel (he died), but it'd be nearly impossible to make both Baron von Rotten and a completely different alter ego canonical at the same time. But I've made seeming contradictions coexist in my fanfictions before, so... I'd definitely try my hardest if that ever happened.
But I really doubt that it would. I get the feeling that Disney wants to be done with Doom, seeing as Resurrection is his only other appearance, and he's nowhere to be seen in the two dropped prequels.

A Lion King book? Man, there are several dozens, including comic books. And since they have Disney copyrights on them, I don't see why they wouldn't be official. But this isn't the right place to talk about it...
So... has the dialogue been illuminating? Oh, and I took a bunch of photos of the queue during my visit to Disneyland, so I have a much clearer image of the locations and a better idea about the storyline. And to think that I thought the manhole with the Toon Patrol's voices coming out of it was outside of the ride building... I'll put them up, oh, tomorrow evening if I'm awake enough.

Okay, here they are: smg.photobucket.com/albums/v428/tymime/Weasels/Other%20Car%20Toon%20Spin/?action=view¤t=SS850768.jpgThey're all really blurry and dark, unfortunately. My stupid camera can't take a focused picture in the dark without the flash, and using the flash would ruin the lighting. Also, I had to work fast because the line was moving pretty quickly. Trust me, the ones I took outdoors are a hundred times better. So blame the camera, not my photography skills. I'll prove it with a different thread focusing on the rest of my trip there. I'm tired, so I'm not quite finished uploading them all- I'll finish tomorrow.

i meant i didn't know there were books about Simba's son. i thought the recording was EXTREMELY illuminating. are we to take everything in it as true fact, as true as the facts in the movie? thanks for the pics! i thought they were great!
