I do think that she would have to be self-reliant. But i think he'd be enraged and would show it, if somebody kidnapped her. He even gets pretty enraged in the movie when the other weasels are laughing in Valiant's room, and that's not as serious as a kidnapping of a loved one. But despite showing how angry and tense he is if his girl was kidnapped, he'd still maintain a mature coolness and maintain a clear head, cuz we know he's got good control, and also he'd know that if he wanted to get her back, it would be essential to keep a focused state of mind.

i think he'd ruin her. revenge, you know? he wouldn't kill her, but he'd ruin her financially, and ruin her reputation, and her career.

Hmmm... Well, if he truly loved her to death, he would cry. He isn't the crying type of course, but EVERYONE cries at at least some point. If somebody says they don't, then they're lying. From the toughest of people to the most sensitive, everybody has got a breaking point. But Smart Ass would make darn well sure that nobody knows about it, of course! If it were his true love that broke up with him, then i think he'd love her too much to wanna ruin her. Now if a girl broke up with him, and she wasn't much of a hardcore love interest to begin with and was more of a quick fling, then he wouldn't cry, and he'd ruin her. But never his true love! That's just my theory.

I remember reading about a pirate who was known historically as being among the cruelest, and it's said that even he wept (for his son.) Figures; i can't remember his name. So bad guys can cry too.

if i remember correctly, i read about a pirate, a woman named Grace O'Malley, if memory serves, who kiled HER son. he fell overboard, and when he grabbed the rail to haul himself back aboard, she cut off his fingers, making him fall in and drown. she said a true O'Malley would never fall overboard. you wouldn't think a MOTHER would do such a thing...tho with today's society, it doesn't sound that unusual...sad, ain't it...(-_-)

he kinda seems like the type who'd try to drown his sorrows in a bottle of the oldest, strongest, most expensive wine he can get his paws on. not get drunk and go crazy, of course, that'd be out of character. i mean he'd want to deaden the pain.
