I don't think he'd do it for the bonus of being a hero. If he really loved her, I think he'd save her strictly outta love- but his chest would swell with pride anyways if people praised him for his good deed. Since Smart Ass thinks he's such a big shot, he would have a weekness for praise. He'd do it only outta love, and simply be extremely pleased with being labeled a hero. Even selfish Smart Ass has got to have at least some moments of sincere kindness. ;D He certainly is a tough-guy; he's a mobster. But despite that he means serious buisness, i sometimes think he's sorta a bluff. But this is all merely my opinion.  i agree - i was kidding when i said that! ^_^ sorry, i hope i didn't offend. i was wondering on that subject if he's capable of tenderness towards his girl. besides loving her and treating her well. i mean would he ever be gentle and...sentimental, y'know? would he maybe do something like nuzzle her or caress her face? |

I was wondering what you guys think; who'd make the first move? Smart Ass or the girl? Like, i can see Smart Ass making the first move because he's dominating. But i can also see the girl having to make the first move, because i don't think Smart Ass would wanna appear like a softy if he made any advances. I think he'd be afraid of showing affection.  in my fanfics he acts like Dizzy rightfully belongs to him because he's the Boss, like the quarterback automatically gets the head cheerleader, y'know? right off the bat he figures out her weaknesses (which sounds evil when i put it like that, but it doesn't come across like that in the actual fanfic) and uses them to get her to realize that she likes him (she's in denial). and he sort of protects her from Greasy/keeps Greasy away from her. however, he ignored her almost completely on the job, especially when Doom is around. so basically, he doesn't show affection, just attraction. i hope that sounds accurate! ...gosh, this all makes my fanfic sound like a romance! ^_^' it's not, believe me. this actually takes up only a very small portion, but i have to put a lot of thought into it to keep Smart Guy in character, so it comes up a lot *^_^* |

No offense or anything, but Smart Ass seems kind of mean to Diz in your fiction.
Just my opinion, nobody start on me. (Backs away cautiously)
I can see the girl having to make the first move, but before that Smart Ass would just sort of give her a few hints, like constantly glancing at her or something.

I think Smart Ass would show tenderness and be sentimental to his love. I just think it would be a side of him that would have to be broken into. I think he's hardened and the right girl would have to open him up. He'd probably even fight it at first. But once broken into, i think he'd show affection. That's just my opinion. =3

btw, i hope i'm not annoying anyone with how often i mention my fanfic. i just want to be sure i'm diong it right, and i figure if more than one other serious fan is of the like mind as to how they would handle/behave in a certain situation, i must be on the right track!

I feel ya, psychoangel. I used to go to a Lion King forum, and when I mentioned my adaptation of all the movies and books, people accused me of plugging it. Well, excuse me for the topic reminding me of it! Sheesh.
I must say it wouldn't surprise me if Smarta** generally made the first move, but perhaps he'd be uncertain about it when the girl in question was the object of infatuation, a crush, or love.

i think it'd be a combination - he makes the first move, but is reluctant to show REAL affection, y'know? he pretends he doesn't REALLY care, but he does deep down.

okay, new one - what if his girl was kidnapped? would he be FURIOUS (KILL THE SON OF A GUN!!!), annoyed, or just 'well, we'd better go get her back'. and how much concern is he capable of showing? i personally think he'd be mad at the villain but very cool about it, and he'd be concerned but mask it by acting slightly annoyed with the girl (because, as we concluded, she'd have to be smart and self-reliant to suit him)
