All right then, I can try starting the entry of non-Disney weasels, though if anyone would like to help me out, let me know, okay?

Eh, I think that book really only named them because of what animal they are. Wacky Weasel...Chips Coyote. I think they really just picked something that still sounded catchy.

Yeah, that's the trouble with naming a toon alliteratively- Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck- a lot of them are already taken. I just figured it was an interesting coincidence.
To be clear, the rest of that issue has comics. Apparently Golden Age comic books had short prose stories, usually two pages long, as well as comics. I was surprised by this, because I didn't know anyone did that, and it looks like they stopped doing it in the '50s.
It's kinda weird, because I've been thinking about writing novels about toons, which would be unusual because toons almost never appear in anything besides visual mediums. My question was this: how much could you separate a type of character that relied on visuals from the visuals? I only knew about Gary K. Wolf's Roger Rabbit books, but now I see that short stories about funny animals existed in the '40s, and were actually quite common! Who knew?

I thought that the short prose staoies with the two pgs. stoped in the 40's. I guess not I am still look for my dads comic books he had as a kid I do not no what happened to them. Your question about separate a type of character that relied on visuals from the visuals could not tell you I only new of Gary Wolf as well.

Here's another one by WB: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bfSHYCvISYThis is the only uncut version I could find (which is weird because I certainly never saw it any other way before), although unfortunately the aspect ratio is all wrong. Is it me, or does Warner Bros. like making their weasels goofy? I mean, this guy has buck teeth! Go figure.
