Nah, it wasn't WB made. It's Disney. Touchstone is owned by Disney. Touchstone is the name that's associated with WFRR because the name "Disney" is too 'clean' to be on it. People who like the movie wouldn't have if it had been sold under the Disney name. They would likely have complained that it was inappropriate for kids, even though it's not specifically aimed -at- children. You would have been closer to the mark to have said it was made by Amblin. www.fundinguniverse.com/company-histories/Amblin-Entertainment-Company-History.html

I also agree that Back in action is a good movie. I would love to see it again...*sigh*
Anyway, I only said it WB because I never saw the castle with tinker bell and all that. That and the symbol for WB is in the beginning. I don't have the DVD, mine is recorded by Tivo on Encore.

I don't know what print Encore played, but for me it always opened with the Touchstone logo. The Maroon Cartoons logo is a parody of Looney Tunes. You can't assume that WB made it just because you see their logo... Plenty of Disney films are lacking in the castle logo, as well- as far as I know, that's something they started using in the 80's. I don't remember any Tinkerbell opening... (It was always a Disney film in my mind, regardless of who distributed it, whose name is on it, or who co-produced it. It has the pioneering spirit of Disney, after all.)

Hey, Fatal, the little line that arcs over the castle is supposed to be Tinkerbell. I say 'supposed'. Because unless you were told, you would never even suspect. It's a bit more obvious with the newest version because you get to see the 'pixie dust' falling. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE4NbqzNyKo&feature=relatedwww.youtube.com/watch?v=ttw1buV1GHYSee? It's kind of taken from "The Wonderful World of Disney" openings. But yes, you are correct. For the uber-nerdy like me, It first comes up with the Touchstone logo...then a screen with: "Touchstone Pictures and Amblin Entertainment in association with Silver Screen Partners III present" then it moves into the Title Card. And to be fair, the opening to "Somethin's Cookin'" starts off as a parody of the old Disney shorts, with the characters' heads in the middle of a sunburst. THEN they parody WB's openings. They nail just about every studio at some point in the movie with something. (If you were wondering, yes, I happened to have my copy close at hand and checked it. *laughs* I'm such a neeeerrrrd.)

I admit that those openings are similar, but I'm not really convinced that it's supposed to be Tinkerbell. Since they always play "When You Wish Upon A Star" over it, I had always assumed it was a falling star.

I've always heard that's who it's supposed to be and they just simplified it. I couldn't find the old one that I remember where it would show the 'line', then Tinkerbell swoops out toward the screen to 'tap' it and make it disappear.

That's just the thing, I can't remember. It was many years ago when I was a kid though. :\ I wish I -could- recall though! Dang it. See what happens when you get old? If I ever manage to find anything else about it, I'll be sure to point you to it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Walt_Disney_PicturesSomeone mentions it there as well, so apparently I'm not the only person who thinks that. Hmph. It's hard to find info on the logo at all, and all I can find just refers to it as a 'line'. (Because, yeah, that's what it -is-...but the blue background 'castle logo' is rather minimalist and stylized.) But they're also just concerned with describing the animation and little else.
