I've always wondered why they joined Doom in the first place and if they knew he was really a toon. I need some ideas to create a backstory for the weasels in my story.

Well, probably, weasels had some enemies which were stronger that they, and Judge Doom said that he will help our weasels with their enemies if they join him. |

What disturbs me is that they seemed so willing to betray and destroy their fellow toons.

I think they joined because maybe their lives were messed up like family members dying. Doom then probably told them their lives will be easier if they joined. Kinda like how the Nazis manipulated kids to join the Hitler Youth.  |

Well, they WERE the Toon Patrol, so they were a district in ToonTown, and their headwas the cprrupt Doom, so I think they were there before Doom came to power. I might be wrong, but whatever evil they are doing with him, they are still the 'cops' of ToonTown... My point being, maybe they didnt join him, but they just followed him, as it was their orders.

I was thinking, what if the weasels were close to dieing of laughter when they met Doom, and Doom saw what a good chance this was to get henchmen, so he saved them. Then either Smart Ass could of told him "We owe you one" or Doom said that they owed him one. So that's it.
