Are Smarty and Stupid brothers?
No seriously, after watching the movie again, I found some things that may actually point to this
(I personally dont think the directors intended for this, but it's still fun to consider!)
They both have the same fur color, while the other weasels have either entirely different colored fur (Wheezy, partly Psycho with his yellow underbelly), or just differently shaded fur (Greasy, also Psycho with his fur), but both Smarty and Stupid have the same shade of brown for their backs/heads, and the same shade of orangish brown underbellies.
When Smarty got the soap bar in his mouth and all the others laughed, he hit the others with the soap or the plunger, but with Stupid, he just threw the plunger at his mouth, sure that may still have hurt, but Smarty didnt actively hit Stupid.
And also, their names/looks, if I'm correct, in cartoons back then when they animated two siblings but there were no mom and dad, they would animate the brothers or sisters to look and act the opposite of one another, and would give them either similar names, or opposite names. Smarty is the smartest one, who is finely dressed, and gives the orders, while Stupid is the dumber one, wears more childish clothes, and is also taller and bigger than Smarty, who is supposed to be small and slim.
Am I thinking too much into this? Or do you think this has some truth? I'd love to hear what you think!
