So, yeah, I got to wondering how everyone's favourite humorous metaphor fits in. Going by some things Baby Herman said, Toons are perfectly capable of using the more conventional method. Is the pattycake thing specific to Roger and Jessica, or do other Toons use it? Can they use it to reproduce? Could one be arrested for high-fiving a Toon without permission?
I started wondering because I had a vague idea for a fanfic involving the pattycake thing, but had no idea how seriously to play it, given that it could be either an innocent if personal-space-invading game or the Toon equivalent of a serious assault, and the characters seemed to be getting even more confused than I was, so I stopped and shelved that idea. Yeah, my brain is weird.

Must admit I was darkly amused by the idea of Psycho playing pattycake with someone while singing "Miss Lucy Had Some Leeches" (thoroughly gory little song about the mistreatment of women in Victorian asylums, set to the tune of "Miss Susie Had A Steamboat").

"Damn that nitrous oxide for when you can't escape ..." Yeah.
Think Toons can reproduce via pattycake? I think in the animated movie FernGully (which I haven't seen so can't confirm) the fairies got pregnant by holding hands or something ...

In FernGully when they touched hands it seems they had fun *if you know what i mean* and they could have a child like that. In Avatar they cut out the s** scene but you can still see it seems too me that's how they have kids, so guessing the Patty-Cake thing is the a way too have a child it only works for toons too me.

I'm not sure how seriously to play the game in the fic I considered doing, as I don't know whether it would count as just kidding around or something actually serious. The characters don't seem to know either. Think that Toons can just play it as a game, as well as using it as a metaphor? I hope so, because little kids play it in cartoons quite a lot ... >_<

I guess the humorous metaphor type is a specific variation on the game, kid Toons play a different version, and Toons can tell the difference even if humans can't. I hope so, anyway.
Think they can drop the metaphor as well? Certain things Herman said imply that they can do things the human way, even if they don't all the time.
