Veronica could feel the anger deep down inside, ignoring the hurt that was deeper. Earlier that day, Jaurez had asked Smart Guy to go on a date and the jerk actually asked her if she was okay with it.
Why should I care...? Just a stupid date.
Veronica crossed her arms and glared down at the kitchen floor as the thought crossed her mind. She wanted to smash something....
The sound of giggling caught her attention. Seconds later, Candy came skipping in, hearts floating around her head.
Veronica raised a brow as she watched the sandy colored jill. After a moment, Veronica set her anger and hurt aside before asking Candy, "What are you all giggly about?"
"It's stupid." she said with a dreamy sigh.
"Oh, c'mon, it can't be too bad."
"Wha?"
Veronica blinked as Candy stared at her, her head cocked. After a moment, Veronica said, "You mean...Stupid Newman?"
Candy seemed to giggle and sigh at the same time. "He's so..."
"Idiotic?" Veronica mumbled.
"Dreamy." Candy said, not catching what Veronica said.

Smart Guy was not at ease. Veronica seemed really mad when Jaurez came over, which was odd to him. He could never understand women...
"You like dinner?"
Smart Guy shot his head over at Jaurez, who was wearing a beautiful black dress.
Veronica was wearing a black dress that one time we went dancin'....
Smart Guy cleared his throat and said, "It was delicious, Babe."
Jaurez smiled, leaning forward a little bit. Smart Guy turned away as the memory of a silver she-wolf leaning over and kissing him for the first time crossed his mind.
Him and Veronica had had a long of flings, but nothing serious...still...Smart Guy couldn't help, but feel...different around her.
"You okay?"
Smart Guy turned to Jaurez and gave her a charming smile. "Course, Sweet 'art, just thinkin' 'bout how pretty you are."
Jaurez's smile widen and Smart Guy mentally kicked himself.
What are you doing?!? Diggin' the hole deeper than it needs to be?!?!
When Jaurez's eyes turned to the window and showed question, Smart Guy turned to see Vanessa. The girl quickly hid, but her gold hat could still be seen.
"I'm sorry, but I have to go." the gray jill said.
Smart Guy nodded, but froze when Jaurez gave him a small kiss on the cheek. As she ran off, leaving Smart Guy alone, the pink suited weasel took off his hat, running a hand through his fur as he asked, "What have you gotten yourself into, Lander?"

Jaurez hugged herself as the cold air hit her. She turned to Vanessa and raised a brow as she pushed aside a few bangs in her face.
Vanessa crossed her arms and asked, "Why are you dating Smart Guy?"
Jaurez simply stared for a minute before saying, "Because he's charming...You know how I like my males, Vanessa."
"But Smart Guy?!?" she asked.
This time, Jaurez crossed her arms. The gray jill made a small humph before asking, "What's wrong with Smart Guy?"
"He's-I-Ugh, it's hard to really explain." Vanessa groaned.
"Vanessa, you've know me for a long time...I won't get mad."
Vanessa fiddled with the rim of her golden hat, but said, "Well...uh, you know Veronica?"
"Oh, yeah, I talked to her earlier."
Vanessa blinked. "You did?"
"Yeah. Personally, I thought they were dating, but she seemed real cool about it."
"Really...?"
Jaurez nodded.
Out of the corner of Vanessa's eye, she noticed Smart Guy had walked out and was now staring at them, ears pricked.
"Yeah, said she didn't care or anything-"
Smart Guy turned and headed home. He didn't want to hear anymore.

Veronica could feel the frustration build up inside her. She hated this. This pain...
As a knock came to her door, the she-wolf pricked her ears and quickly wiped away her warm tears before opening the door.
The very weasel she had been thinking about stared at her with chocolate eyes.
"Aren't you suppose to be on your date?" she asked, no longer able to hide the venom.
He flinched. "I heard you don't care about me."
"You told you that?" she asked, letting a grow out.
"No one you need to concern your self about."
The she-wolf was about to slam the door in his face, but he quickly let himself in.
"Is that really how you feel?" he asked.
"Get out, Lander."
"Answer the question."
Veronica only growled as she got her coat. Smart Guy cocked a brow as he asked, "Where you going?"
"Away from you!" she growled.
"All I asked is to know how you feel."
Veronica's hand froze at the knob. The coldness of it never pleased her, but she didn't notice. Her eyes became dazed as she tried to find something to say...
"I...."
She felt a hand on her shoulder and she soon had to look at him. Her amber eyes simply stared into his...
One....two...three...
Seconds passed and all she did was stare. Stare as those agonizing seconds passed...
Twenty...twenty-one...twenty-two...twenty-three...
She quickly leaned over, a deep blush on her face, as she kissed it. Time froze as her arms wrapped around his neck while his rested on her back.
After a moment, she parted and, tears falling down her face, said, "I...I'm sorry...."
"Wha?" he asked, still dazed.
"I...I can't...I still need time, Smart Guy...."
As sudden anger came to her from her answer, she open the door and ran out.
She didn't look back and locked out all sound as she ran. Tears fell down her face and she had forgotten the one virus she gotten years ago that made her like a human that could die so easily....
And she didn't hear the horn...or see the lights.........

The pain that ran through her suddenly stopped. Just stopped.
She slowly opened her amber eyes, but quickly shut them as a bright light entered her view.
"Open your eyes, sister."
Veronica blinked and looked up into the eyes of her older brother, Halo.
He twitched his ears before bending down, his wings closing around them.
"Halo....am I...?"
Halo nodded, sadness in his eyes.
Veronica said nothing. She closed her eyes and, after moments of silence, asked, "Well...why won't you take me?"
"Because you have another life."
Veronica opened her amber eyes and sat up. She stared at Halo for a long time before whispering, "What?"
"You were pregnant.....There is still a chance we can save him, but you must lie down and trust me." he said.
Veronica did as she was told.
"Be better if you close your eyes. Tight."
She nodded before doing what he said. As soon as the amber eyes were closed, Halo reached down, his paw glowing a beautiful blue.
The pain entered her again and Veronica almost screamed as the glow became brighter...
Then it stopped.
Veronica opened her eyes and Halo looked back at her.
"Where is he?" she asked.
"On Earth."

Jazz stood outside the hospital door, her head down. Next to her, Cyril wrapped his arm around her as he whispered, "I'm so sorry, Jazz..."
Jazz didn't say anything as her violet eyes looked over at the kits, who were sitting on the laps of their parents.
Abby looked back at Jazz and her eyes showed sadness.
As the doctor came out, he looked at Jazz and shook his head...

Jessica Rabbit hummed to herself as she petted her husband's head. Roger smiled as his tongue hang out, his feet kicking like a dog being scratched. Jessica giggled and played with her husband's orange hair.
The sudden ring of a doorbell made Roger shot up, his blue eyes showing shock.
Both husband and wife glanced at each other before Roger said, "I'll get it," as he stood up.
He opened the door slowly before opening wide with confusion. He looked around and shrugged before shutting the door. Jessica stopped him and blinked down. Roger looked down as well.
On the ground, was a basket. In that basket, was a blue blanket. And in that blanket was a young pup.
The young wolf sniffed up at them, looking as if he was about to cry. Jessica quickly picked him up as she shushed him, saying it was all right.
The pup's fur was that of burnt wood brown while his muzzle had lighter brown fur around it. His amber eyes looked up at Jessica.
"Aww...Honey Bunny, look at him..." Jessica said, gently touching the pup's right ear.
"Yeah, he sure is a cute!" Roger said, a huge smile on his face.
Roger looked down and blinked as he picked up a note.
"It says...Nickolas....Nickolas James!" Roger said.
Jessica smiled. "I like that name..."
