www.kiddierecords.com/2006/archive/week_02.htmI thought everyone would be interested in hearing this adaptation of the Wind in the Willows half of The Adventures of Ichabod & Mr Toad from a 1949 78-rpm record. As many of you know, that movie provided the basic design that the Toon Patrol and most other weasels are based on. This version simplifies the story even further, right down to the bare bones of it. Oddly enough, the weasels are given more lines (although it may be Winky). It's not terribly revelatory or anything, but I figured some would enjoy hearing lots of Basil Rathbone narration.

Cool. Glad you put this here. ;D I actually have the movie. The one with Icabob. I like Mr. Toad better because I like animals. *shrugs* I like both stories, though.

I'm not a big fan of Ichabod because he seems to be mostly a gold-digger, which goes completely against his physical appearance and my impression of him before I saw it. I could've sworn he was an awkward, scaredy-cat nerd! I find the story a little dull up until the Headless Horseman anyway...
I've read the original Wind in the Willows book as well. None of the versions I've read or seen really give the weasels much to do up until the invasion of Toad Hall. The book is more of a collection of short stories than anything. Will the weasels ever get a prominent role?

Now that you mentioned it, I have a friend who is a "computer nerd" some people would say...-_-' Me and him are thinking about a game where the main character is a weasel, so maybe after that, the public opinion on weasels will change. *shrugs*
That, and Buck really helped in Ice Age 3. ^_^

That depends on how successful and widely distributed the game is. I'd take any sort of appearance of a Disney weasel that was more than a generic bad guy- slightly more important and fully-developed than what we see in WFRR. See, we infer a lot of things from what little we get of the Toon Patrol, and what I'd like to see is a Disney weasel character that doesn't need inferring. Basically, I wouldn't want one weasel to hog all the lines like Smarta**. I'd like the weasel's role to be more up there with the Beagle Boys.

Buck is great and all, but I have my doubts he'll have have much impact on what Disney does with its weasel characters. It doesn't really matter to me whether or not they're good guys anyway. You'd think that because of the Toon Patrol's memorableness, they'd be equals with all the other Disney villains... but noooo, Disney let the Roger Rabbit franchise die for God knows what reason.
...I hope to God the sequel does well.
