I'm trying to come up with a backstory for the weasels that would fit with the WFRR universe for my fic. They were drawn and painted, but by whom and why? Why did they join Doom? What happened in their past to make them so willing to help commit mass murder?
You guys got any suggestions? I can gain inspiration and possibly even use them in the fic.

I address this (hoping somebody would discuss it with me) in the "Useful stuff ta know" thread: weaselboard.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=idea&action=display&thread=1576&page=3To summarize, it's my personal theory that the Toon Patrol, and all other Disney weasels from the same period, are descendants of the weasels in The Wind in the Willows. They look the way they do in 1947 instead of looking like semi-realistic book illustrations because they emigrated to America in hopes of starting a career in show biz, getting radically redesigned by the (or one of the) animation company/companies they worked for. I like to think it was Maroon Cartoons in the '30s. When their show biz career fails, desperation leads to a life of crime. I think they were willing to destroy Toontown and join Doom because of the intense hatred they had for other toons, who were fearful of and prejudiced against weasels. I personally like to think that Smarta** in particular had his mother die of laughter because of other malevolent toons deliberately making her laugh too much. This would make him thirst for revenge. ...But to tell you the truth, these are all plans I have for my own backstory fanfiction. It'd be weird if the both of us told such different versions since we wouldn't be able to see what the other is writing, don't you think? Even if you used these ideas... But I guess I wouldn't have too much of a problem if you used these ideas anyway. I guess I'd have to think about it... Or is this for "Saving Toontown"? Are the events of their backstory that you choose merely going to be referred to in conversation? Are you using flashbacks? Or is this a separate fanfiction? If you're going to only make references to past events, then I have absolutely no problem with you using my ideas. (Although I have my own ideas about what happened to Smarta** when he got Dipped...) |

I think each one had some kind a tragic event that happen to them, but then again, that sounds too...simple. The Toon Patrol are a group of weasels who, in the movie, seem to beat eachother. Not in a cruel way, but more of an alpha wolf type of situation. For all we know, Doom might have been the old "alpha" weasel, but was currupted by some darkness that turned him into the Toon we saw in WFRR. Then again, it didn't look like they knew he was Toon. I guess they were already so bad, they just let Doom hire them. I really can't tell. Their pasts are all wrapped up in some kind of mystery, it's hard to tell what their past was like. I mean, Wheezy might have had a great past, but blew it all when he started smoking. Once again, I don't know.

Thanks for showing me this, Fatal. The reason I theorized Doom to be a weasel was because he just seem to know so much about them that other humans or Toons didn't. Again, thanks for showing me this because I was planing to write a fic about him as a weasel. Man, now that I know this, I couldn't make anything that made sense at all. Thank you.

I had always pictured him as being yellow and extremely malleable. I don't entirely know why they make him pink in that comic...
