Whoa, that's cool! And very unique and individual. It seems like your own breed of toony features mixed with a bit of anime' (the hair reminds me of anime'). But seriously dude, it is TOTALLY individual looking to me!! ^_^ Superb job! wow, thanks so much! i never expected to get such a nice compliment on my art ^///^

I just finished the outline the other day of the tattoo i was asked to draw. Next i just gotta shade it, and then my friend will take it in and get it done across his stomach. When he gets the tattoo, I'll take a pic of it, and my original outline, and post it here. But that may be in a while- it's gonna be a big tattoo. Then I gotta work on some drawings for my possible boyfriend (it isn't legitimate yet, but he asked me out a couple days ago and I said yes) because he asked me to do some pictures for a project he's working on. And I have my own projects that have been in progress for a long time... Does anybody have some neat art projects going on?

I did. You have a nice gallery, I especially like the Hammer Bros. picture (especially since they're my favorite Bowser-henchmen, love their little helmets) I would favorite it, but I'm at a school computer and it won't let me log into dA. If you get a favorite from Miss-Moonstruck sometime in the near future, it was me

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. And if you mean the "behind the scenes" ones you did, yeah, I did see them. I liked them! Is there no end to what we'd like to see the Toon Patrol do?

I don't know what style I draw in. XD It's my style I suppose. (Been drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil.)
I can mimic styles like Disney and WB. I admire Tex Avery for his ability to do the expected in completely unexpected ways. I also admire Walt Disney for having the fortitude to NOT get hung up on one type of story. (He was constantly moving on to the next great story even though when he was alive people begged him to 'cash in' on his successes with sequels. He refused to though.) I wish I could thank Andrew Loomis for his invaluable help in finally understanding what underpainting is all about, his awesome skills at helping me with subtlety in poses and for writing his books in the first place.
I have a thing for redesigning characters though...with the weasels I usually give them tails in everything. I also am working on a full portrait of Greasy in a style that mimics a real weasel more. (Mainly changed his nose and ears.)

It's always an interesting thing to see someone do a pre-established character in their own style- I think what matters most is capturing their personalities. Sometimes- excluding your drawing, kishi- it doesn't always work and usually that's because they either forgot what their personality is like or what they're doing simply borders too much on being drawn off-model. I can understand redesigning, though. My brother does that somewhat with the Lion King characters.

It's fun to do. I forgot to mention before, but Don Bluth is also one of my favorite animation people. Something about the style is just so appealing. It can be cute and sweet AND dark and moody. Just watch "The Secret of NIMH" a few times. I also blame "Watership Down" and "The Last Unicorn" for proving that things can be adorable or pretty and still be gruesome and horrifying. (Well, that and friggin "Animal Farm". Now -that- is not a show for kiddies.)

Ah, Secret of NIMH! How could I have possibly forgotten Secret of NIMH for my list of influences? That movie has been a HUGE influence on me! It's exactly why a lot of my projects involve cute, huggable animals in dark, scary situations, and the reason why I prefer referring to real-life animals for my designs. I mean, think about it- you've got these adorable rats and mice writhing in agony and stabbing each other with daggers, and they're warping my eight-year-old mind! I watched the movie as a kid.
I like scruffy, furry characters with sharp teeth because of it, and almost all of my characters are animals. I don't need to read Redwall or Watership Down to make me like and create talking animal fantasy worlds. I have kind of a slightly demented fascination with blood, as well. A lot of my stories involve bleeding. I probably find classic cartoons and horror to be perfectly compatible because of NIMH... That, and Nightmare Before Christmas and Car Toon Spin. Actually, it's quite amazing how often toons have scrapes with ghosts and monsters and things like that...

I'm a HUGE Watership Down, Animal Farm, and The Plague Dogs fan!!! I adore realistic, dark, and uncensored works like those. I specialize in realistic drawings (all my characters are animals) but i also give them their own stylization to give each character their own, unique flare. I've been working on a book for several years now, and I have tons of drawings for it. However, I have never posted any of these particular drawings online. My sister showed samples of my work to this gal she knows that has to do with publishing, and she was very interested; therefore I sorta have a fear of plagiarism if I were to ever post anything. So I just show that stuff to people I'm real close to. My friend, whom I love like a sister, said to me that the style of my work reminded her of sorta a combination of Poe and Tim Burton, which very much flattered me. ^_^

Don't get me wrong, it's just that I saw Animal Farm when I was a bitty kid. I think I was one of the few kids to 'get' what it was about. It's just kind of gruesome to let a kid watch. (My parents let me watch blood and guts horror movies when I was little. ) I appreciate those kinds of things for giving people a bit of a smack and making them realize that not all cartoons are great for kids and they don't -have- to be.
