We have a lotta artists on here, so I decided to make this thread. Everybody is an individual with their own unique drawing style of course, but what categary would you consider your "look" to be in? The anime' style? The Disney style? Totally realistic drawings? A combination of a few things? ect....

My style is between cartoonish and realistic. I used to draw anime style, but I didn't like it.

Some things, mostly self invented weasels. But the toon patrol weasels I try as disneymatic as I could. It´s not so easy to get the original way of drawing something, cause you never know how the weasels were drawn. Which part was drawn first. I for my self draw the ears first and then down to the nose. The weasels in nature I try to draw as naturely as possible. But they shall look like toons.

I like drawing in any style I can manage, but usually(85%?)it's cartoony or sometimes anime, and/or somewhere between that.

I can see this in your weasel art. Your characters have big eyes and this reminds me on anime, but the rest is typical toonish. On this way you created a new style for your own.

Whoa, that's cool! And very unique and individual. It seems like your own breed of toony features mixed with a bit of anime' (the hair reminds me of anime'). But seriously dude, it is TOTALLY individual looking to me!! ^_^ Superb job!

I myself tend to do realistic drawings mixed with a little bit of stylization. I don't really think about it as I'm drawing it, but I suppose some of my inspiration comes from pen and ink illustrations from old, old books. I love to do a lotta black and white sketchy stuff with a lot of lines and textures. I asked people what category they'd consider it to be in, but they said they weren't sure. All I know is it ain't Disney. If I were to compare it to any sort of animation, which I generally don't, I suppose it would be closest to stuff like Watership Down or The Plague Dogs. I like to do charcoal. And paint sometimes. But I usually stick to black and white drawings. I pretty much only do toony stuff when I'm doing fan art from something.

I would say that my art style is somewhat anime-ish and toonish. I can't necessarily draw fully detailed anime characters so I mix it with some nice little toonish features. My anime related art style usually consists of chibis (i.e: check my siggy picture)

My style leans heavily towards classic cartoons (surprise surprise), but tinged in there are a number of other influences- when I was a preteen (and somewhat earlier than that) I was obsessed with Calvin & Hobbes and Pokémon. The latter made me get into that standard manga style that you see in "How to Draw Manga" books, which my brother intended to learn for a while there. Nowadays I've embraced my messy, angular style and joined it with my fascination with dark and macabre things, like old-school horror, rock music, fantasy, and my miniscule knowledge of underground comics. I'd say my style was rather edgy, and I'm pretty good at monsters and things. My classic cartoon influences have returned to full power now.
I'd say Disney, Tex Avery, Edward Gorey/Charles Addams/Tim Burton, Bill Watterson, Brian Froud, Rankin/Bass, 1950's Mad magazine, retro advertising art, retro video games, Todd Schorr, Toshihiro Ono, and this children's book called Trouble for Trumpets are my biggest influences. The latter is solely responsible for my tendency to draw lots of tiny little details.

Hmm... it didn't occur to me that no one outside of the people I talk to in PMs would know about my dA page. But I do have one, although it's not much and doesn't exactly represent me right now: tymime.deviantart.com/"Tymime" stands for "Typhlosion and Mr. Mime", which are the Pokémon we picked years ago to represent me and my brother. Me and my brother are pretty much partners, and we almost always contribute to what the other is doing. Most often, though, one of us is the "mastermind" behind the project, and the other will make suggestions or have some specialized job to do. My brother has a much cuter, cleaner, and more Disney-esque style than I do, because as it turns out, I'm the darker one and he's the brighter one. He's a heck of a lot better at drawing pre-established characters than I am, like Disney characters. The drawings I did are the Shy Guy ghosts, the Flying Hammer Brothers (we both like Mario), the floating evil witch in the fake video game screenshot, some bits of the "Sabermobile", and everything except the giant turtle-like things in the most recent one. My brother did those giant turtle-like things, the pirate otter, most of the screenshot, those video game enemy concepts, and most of the "Sabermobile". As you may guess, we're still learning how to color our drawings. Is it me, or did most of the people here go through an anime phase...?
