Oh, yeah, Jose's in WFRR! Okay, so...who else is a fan? There's gotta be at least ONE other Jose fan on here...

I kinda felt obliged to respond to this, since no else seemed to be doing it... Anyway, I've always enjoyed The Three Caballeros- it's been part of my VHS collection for as long as I can remember. It's such a freaky, trippy movie... As for Jose, I've never truly formed an opinion of him- I like him enough I suppose. After all, I recognized his name! The most I know about him besides the aforementioned movie is that he's in the companion package film of the same era,Saludos Amigos, and that he's popular in Brazilian Disney comic books. Go figure. I know this because of this website, yet again: coa.inducks.com. So here's a good place to start for images of him: coa.inducks.org/character.php?c=JOC&view=4&c1=dateAnd here's some info: users.cwnet.com/xephyr/rich/dzone/hoozoo/joe.htmlThat should help! There's one tidbit I know about: many of his early Brazilian comics were redrawn versions of Mickey and Donald comics! He got a pair of nephews that way, replacing Huey, Dewey, and Louie and reducing them to two. Sometimes they'd forget to redraw the shadows, resulting in three shadows behind the two nephews (or worse, an extra nephew), or even a Mickey-shaped shadow behind Jose!

sweet, thanks! I'd found the inducks site, but never the other! lol, i used to watch Three Caballeros SO often when I was little. My mom HATED it after a while. I remember when I was litle my mom told me to pick a movie and i picked Three Caballeros for the trillionth time. then my mom said, "Oh, honey, that movie's three hours long. Pick a different one." Only time I remember my mom lying to me ^_^

It sure feels like it's three hours, doesn't it? I intend to get the DVD(s) for both those Latin-America package films, actually. I think there's a DVD release of both of them together, but I'm not sure- I'm probably wrong.

lol, my mom told me recently that I'd never be able to sit through five minutes of it. i watched it to see if she was right...and i LOVED it! the funniest thing was, i told my sisters what i was gonna do, and they said, "Knowing you, you'll love it". Admittedly I DID fastforward all the songs that Panchito wasn't in *^_^*

I always felt that there were slow parts myself. My favorite part is the insane, entirely musical segment at the end, where you wonder what drugs the storyboard team were taking. It's actually kind of a letdown that it ends... My childhood is full of these crazy, surreal cartoons, so it's no wonder that I have such a twisted imagination. Heck, they probably got me into other forms of surrealism, psychedelia, and the avant garde!

yes, the end IS dissappointing. my favorite part is "The Three Caballeros" number, though - Panchito cracks me up. I told my sister last night, "Picture Psycho as a little kid. Give him a gun, then another gun. Then add a two-liter bottle of Mt. Dew and put the resulting personality on a skinny red rooster with a Mexican accent. That's Panchito." ^_^ I love Panchito, too. i think he was the reason I liked the movie so much as a little kid - I loved his voice. I still do. I don't really know why. ^_^ lol, i, too, was raised on cartoons like that...but my imagination isn't twisted I'm just crazy. Hee hee hee heeeee! Seriously, tho - have you seen my avatar signature? It really is true!

Oh, I believe what your signature says. Now, the only reason I say my imagination is twisted is because I come up with some bizarre, crazy ideas for my art- ones that break the rules. It'd be more appropriate if you gave Psycho a bottle of tequila and Coke, probably... maybe a big batch of refried beans. XP
Now that you mention his voice, I realize that one of my characters, who's largely based on Psycho (especially his love of electricity), sort of yips and yelps like Panchito when he laughs... you know, that sort of laugh-like yell that mariachi bands always do.

ROTFLOL!!! oh, man, that's totally right ^_^ Panchito is Psycho on tequila and refried beans!!! ROTFLOL!!! you gotta love Panchito's laugh, and his crazy scream, too ^_^ I can match him, tho - my scream makes dogs howl ^_^ tell me about your Panchito-like character!

Hmm, well... that would be getting a little off-topic, wouldn't it? But I guess... He's a lot more like Psycho, to be clear. He's a character in this traditionally animated heavy metal musical movie I want to do eventually, about a ragtag group of anti-establishment goblins, creatures and critters of the night and things that go bump in it. It's sort of like Jim Henson's Labyrinth, except with a much, much greater variety of species. He's kind of a porcupine-like creature, with a huge smile and bright, wide, crazy, wrinkled eyes (no swirls, though, for originality's sake), large sharp teeth (sort of like a Tasmanian Devil) and goggles on his head. He's the local crazy inventor, tinkering with any sort of electric or electronic gadget, gizmo, or contraption you can think of. He's so crazy about electricity that he becomes rapturous at the sight of huge bolts, and doesn't mind being shocked. ...Told ya he was like Psycho. I'm not entirely sure why he has a mariachi-like laugh... it just appeared in my head that way.

Oh, I liked Labyrinth! I'd love to see your character if you ever post his pic in fanart. He sounds really cool! ^_^
To get back on topic, i was wondering if anyone might have use for the Three Caballeros screens i am getting. they're photos of my tv from my VCR, but they'll do for reference.

Well, I'm kinda protective of my original characters that aren't related to a preexisting franchise, 'cause I always worry about someone stealing them. Although it may take a long time (considering the pace I'm at now), I intend to get my art "out there"- copyrighted and ready to buy- before I put up sketches of them. I prefer to have them be exclusive and special to the project, although I intend to have "previews". I hope you like heavy metal music, because I'm gonna go full tilt headbangin' with the music... it might be kinda scary for most people. I ain't just talkin' Metallica here...
Hmm... I suppose if I (or, more likely, my brother) were to draw some Disney fanart or even some animation, I could use them. Can your computer play DVDs? If so, you can get a DVD playing program that takes screenshots in full quality. I use a little something called Media Player Classic.

oh, i am SO the same way. I was SO scared to put Dizzy and her story up here....
oh, boy...heavy metal? *scared* okay...i must be brave...
i actually have a program that does screenshots - windows media player. however, Onetrue media player refuses to allow me to USE windows media. I HATE it >:[ but when i tried deleting it, NOTHING would work. so i'm sunk.

Well, I treat fan characters differently. When it's an original character that has nothing to do with previous franchises, I get paranoid. I mainly picked heavy metal because it suited the gritty, anti-establishment/anti-authoritarian and party animal vibe the characters have, who, as you know, are all rather unsavory creatures. That, and no one has done a metal musical animated feature film before, so... You might be less scared by the subgenre power metal, which focuses less on being scary and more on being positive and having fantasy themes, thus having a folk music feel. I use that in some parts of the story. There's also a pirate metal band out there...
I've found that Windows Media Player isn't that great at playing DVDs, mostly due to its limitations. Media Player Classic has only one disadvantage: it can't rewind. You gotta drag the darn thing back manually... I'm sure you could find some solution to getting rid of that thing, Onetrue. Have you tried googling it? There's no program that can't be removed, unless its vital to the computer's functioning. I seem to recall having that program once...
