Ok, so this movie is now tied with WFRR for my favorite movie. Who else could not help but absolutely LOVE it, especially Roscuro?!

it's really wierd for me hearing Christopher Lloyd as a good guy. i mean, I've seen "Back to the Future" and "Angels in the Outfield", but still...hearing Doom's voice coming from a little old blind mouse...it's wierd.

I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't seen it, but have been watching this thread to see if you would put up screenshots. In all honesty, I'm a bit skeptical of both the movie and book, to say the least. But the thing is that I liked the design of the rat in the trailer (I'm assuming that's Roscuro) and so it inspired the design of one of my own characters. I'm curious about what he looks like up close. (I'm not sure why it's a surprise to you that he's cute...) I know this isn't exactly the sort of response you wanted, but I felt obliged to say something, albeit partially because I'm after something... I hope you're not insulted. But I'd appreciate those screenshots anyhow, strictly as a curious artist... is that okay?

okay ^_^ thanks for humoring me. It comes as a surprise because most people concieve rats as ugly. it even says in the book that rats are not even cute and they went to great lengths to make the other rats ugly. yet Roscuro is just SO CUTE!!! i have EXCELLENT HD screenshots (I can safely say this because I used them as drawing reference, and as i'm sure any artist knows the better the picture the better the reference it is)...but my personal computer has a virus, so i won't be able to post them til it gets fixed. then i will. sorry about the delay.

It's okay, I can wait. I just saw that if nothing at all was said, that those screenshots would never appear. Strange that I should get inspiration for a character from a few seconds of a trailer, huh? From the way you describe him, he's completely different from what I came up with, especially since my character wound up being especially horrific looking. Luckily for rat fans everywhere, the rest of the rat characters in it look like real ones. I've never really understood why people make rats so scary and disgusting and villainous all the time... I just don't see it. I mean, rats can be the cutest little scamps ever... I'm glad you're not offended, 'cause like I said, I'm skeptical about the movie, especially since those ears remind me so much of Dumbo.

Well, inspiration can come from anywhere. One of my own personal favorite works features my coyote character in a dress inspired by one I saw in a yogurt commercial I agree, rats can be adorable. You know, the plague was my first thought as to why ppl hate them, because ppl don't want to admit that THEY were the ones who caused it by slaughtering all those innocent kitties. lol, i know some kids who like Despereaux, but they call him "Dumbo" as a joke ^_^

Roscuro, definately! I have a love for rats and might get one as a pet when I'm older and move out of the house (for my mom has a huge phobia of rats and mice).
I've read the book, and was disappointed that the rat was the villain...AGAIN!
But the book is different, he's not the real villain. True, he tried to get revenge on the Princess, but it was understandable. But hey, at least he turned good again!
