i believe we agreed that Smart Guy WOULD be capable of tenderness towards his girl. What would that look like? That is, HOW would he show tenderness?

Aaw, thanx! ^_^ Hmm... Well, we know he's hardened. He wants to look tough to people. I think he'd be extremely romantic with his girl. To her and only her, he'd show that beneath that tough, gangster exterior he's got a softness. I think he'd be very sweet and gentle with her- like caressing her face and holding her hand. Sure, in public he'd probably grin and put his arm around her like he's Mr. Cool and this is HIS dame, but in private he'd forget about being a big shot and snuggle with her and reveal his deepest feelings. He'd tell her things that he wouldn't dare let ANYBODY else know about. That's my theory.  Aaaaaw, wouldn't that be such a sweet, romantic image, Lil' Kit? ^_^' |

Boss, you seem certain that Smart Guy is a softie at heart. What makes you think that? That is, did you see something in the movie that told you this was so? Well, we know he's not the nicest guy in the world. He's such a cocky, bossy...well ... smartass! XD But i don't think anybody's born a tough, gangster thug. I think he probably endured a lot of hardships that sorta hardened him and drove him to being a criminal. Yes, he truly is tough. But i think he does it to protect himself, and his heart too. He's probably misunderstood and labled a bad guy by everybody. He's no angel and certainly is a bad boy, but everyone desires love. I think his lifestyle has made him far removed from his heart, and he'd need the right girl to help him get in touch with it again. |

I hesitate to say this because i was saving it for a fic, and i don't want an "outsider" to steal it, but... I kind of picture him as having been forced psychologically into his role. Maybe his father was a mafia boss and was jailed when Smart Guy was a kit, so he and his mother were on their own. Maybe, like Michael Weston (*squee!*), he had to steal to keep his family alive, and got into lots of fights because he wanted respect. Then when he grew up, he was determined not to live like that anymore. That's just a sketchy idea I had. *shrug* |

My pet theory is that his mother died laughing because of some other non-weasel toons, causing his hatred of them and willingness to destroy Toontown.
