We all know Smarty was voiced by David L. Lander, and Lander is from New York (Or, more appropriately, New Yawk. XD Couldn't help myself). And Smart Ass has Lander's accent and all. Is Smarty from some unknown Toon village or neighborhood in New York? Or just from the human city all togethor? Or is it just a big frigin COINCIDENCE that he has the accent and he's actually from LA and Toon Town?

Oh yes, he's a definate New Yorker, direct from the east coast. Nobody can deny that thick, Brooklyn accent of his. In my opinion, he was born and raised there since his accent is so incredibly apparent. But that's my theory; who knows where all toons are specifically supposed to orginate from.

Nope, and I'm not giving a reason why he's not.

i bet he's from this little CITY/TOWN thingy in New York where some toons live.... then went to Toon Town....... You an' i are on the same page, sister! I think there may be numerous "Toontowns." I think he was born in sort of a Toontown, New York, and then simply settled at one point in Toontown, California. Frankly it's possible he's been all over the place. Remember that "wanted in 13 states" poster? And he is a mob boss after all; he was probably making his way across the country from New York, wheelin' and dealin' and doing all sorts of illegal transactions and running from the law and then came to California. Perhaps he chose California because it's on the total opposite coast as New York, and therefore safer since it's so far, presuming he's wanted there. Plus mobs had lots of power in Hollywood back then. He'd probably like that.

Besides, I can't think of any other good names. I mean, Toon Town and Animeville are taken, Townville sounds stupid, and yeah. . . Lots of other stuff you probably don't care to hear. . . But I think like, the middle of the city has a neighborhood that's called Cartoon Central, and the street names are sort of play-offs and jokes about New York's real streets, like Twenty-Ninth-and-a-Half Avenue, or Dirty-Sickths Street. And this city might be considered part of New York. What d'ya think?

lol, luv that! i, too, have a theory that Toons can live places other than Toontown, but they usually don't. Benny, as the directors said, is supposed to be from New York, so why can't Smart Guy be from New York?

I totally can see him coming from New your, but as I was young I thought he would come from Italy, cause in the German movie, he speaks with some kind of an accent, which sounded like typical Italian style.

Yes, but Wheezy has his original sound, cause in the German version he hasn´t some lines. Greasy sound a bit darker than Smart Guy, his speech is deeper. Psycho sounds like a little kid and Stupid sounds dumb. Smart Gus voice is much different then his original voice. In german the sound goes up and down.
