Me too! Over the past 5 years i've taken care of over 60 of them. Stray cats. My family and i didn't want to take them to the pound, and since the good no-kill shelters were full, we took care of them all. I remember when i'd come home from school, i'd refill the food and water dishes and clean the litter boxes. It took only an hour. They were all healthy and well groomed. A year ago we gave them all to a wonderful no kill shelter. It was tough and i still miss them terribly, but no way could we keep that many cats, obviously. Now we have 3 cats: Sally, Felix, and Steven.

I love cats. I can't get enough of them. My cat is not with me right now (I won't be seeing her for 1 month and 2 weeks, then I leave again in a couple of months), but she is the most precious creature in the world to me. I think she's a...calico. I don't remember. If I can find a picture of her in my e-mail, I'll put it up on Photobucket (whenever I make an account) and post it here. Her name is Ran (stupid name, I know...It's Japanese!!) and she's, I dunno, 6 or 7 years old (I've lost count over the years). She's a wild cat. What do I mean "wild cat"? Well, she likes knocking things over. She'll run around chasing something invisible for no reason at. If you have a piece of string...I pray for you. When she's ticked off, she'll bite your hand if you happen to be petting or scratching her. There are several spots on her body where she doesn't like being touched (NO!! Not THAT!!), such as her lower back. She doesn't like feet. God forbid. She loves to lie in the sink, so expect to clean your sink more than once every week. Plus, she's the hot-and-cold type of cat. If you pet her, she won't like it. When you're in the middle of reading a very good book - or writing a paper - she'll lie on top of your book and expect you to pet her. She craves for attention at night. In fact, she sleeps all day and plays at night. Just like me. Jeezus. Still, despite all the crazy stuff she does that will drive you bonkers, I still love her. In fact, she's my only lover. *laugh* She's always there when I feel down. I am never bothered by her presence. She's always lying down next to me to keep the bad things away at night. And. I. Always. Fall. For. Her. Puss 'n Boots. Eyes. EDIT: Here she is ~> s330.photobucket.com/albums/l408/The_Unknown_00/?action=view¤t=Ran1.jpg Ain't she precious? =3

Unknown, your cat is absolutely gorgeous!!!! What a sweetheart! I used to have white shorthair named Sundar. I miss him so much; he was my dear companion. Although he had white fur and yellow eyes, much of his blood was Siamese. His physique was long and slender, with a narrow face and big, pink, bat ears. He was sooo vocal! And his purr was like a motor. He was very mellow. Not lazy, but just mellow. He was such a lap cat, and when he'd sit on my lap, he'd always tilt his head back and look at me with the most loving look. He'd follow me like a shadow. And i taught him tricks; he could wave, grab, and shake hands. He learned them in a mere two minutes each. And when he was cranky he would wrinkle the bridge of his nose and make silly whining and snorting sounds. He was a stray cat i adopted, and when he was 4 he passed, but i'm not going to get into that. Gosh, i had such a spiritual bond with that cat. Animals seem heaven sent, don't they?

Once upon a time, my sister Renee and her dad, who is not related to me, were just driving along, and they came across a cloudy-grey long-haired kitten. They brought her home and named her Smokey. Oh, she was not only clever, she was so, so sweet. When I was still a baby, I would scream and cry for mother when I woke up in the morning. To calm me down, Smokey jumped into my barred bed and snuggled up against me until mother woke. Then when I grew into a curious toddler, I developed the habit of rubbing soft fuzzy things against my face, and she let me pull her hair out. When I cut or scraped myself outside, she licked the dirt off my wound. She was then my playmate until the age of five, when I had to move, and she went to live with my stepfather. I never saw her again. Just two years ago, she died. Awwwwww, I'm crying again. RIP Smokey!!!

wifeofsmartass: Thank you! Despite how annoying and destructive she can be, she's still an angel. I am so sorry about your loss, Weasel Freak and wifeofsmartass! Think this, though - they lived a peaceful life. Even though they are in Heaven, they still think of you and love you.

I remeber that I had about 7 stray kittens and their mother!! They were sooooooooooooooo cute!! But when they came to my house, they couldnt open their eyes! They only sleep and drink the mom's milk. We named the mother cat Shela!! She's quite friendly! After a few weeks, the kittens opened their eyes and started playing like crazy!! But today, someone else adopted them all because we couldnt care for them..

It is so difficult to give kittens away, isn't it. Ya just want to keep them all! Lugia, do you still have the mother cat, Shela?

Think this, though - they lived a peaceful life. Even though they are in Heaven, they still think of you and love you. That is so true! Sundar died in 2005, a couple days before my high school graduation, but to this day i will, on rare occasions, feel his presence.
