Oh yeah, it was a ghost. The porch is just cement steps. And the window was open (it's so hot) and the frame of screen is ripped from the cat, so it's basically just an open hole. When the window is open one glass frame slides atop another, and they are concealed by some heavy wooden blinds. Only the hole filled screen part was showing.

It is strange, i can tell you that. I don't know why there's so much activity here. Some people have told us that we should have ghost investigators come to our house.

To be honest, I'm not convinced that the Ghost Hunters are for real. I've seen one or two episodes and several preview commercials, and it seems to me like they're just wandering around in the dark and screaming at nothing... I'm very skeptical about it. I do believe that ghosts are very possible. I've heard a theory that says that the buildings that ghosts are supposed to reside in actually recorded the unhappy events that made them ghosts, and left a pernament impression over the area. I don't know how to explain it, but it makes sense to me. I thought I'd copy what I wrote in the "Hauntings" topic here, with an additional one I forgot. I been to places that were supposed to be haunted: the Queen Mary cruise ship, the Winchester Mystery House, Alcatraz, and the Hollywood Forever Cemetary. The Queen Mary has a guy who's supposed to be a worker stuck in the walls in the boiler room, rapping them with his wrench. When I was there, the room had a "Pardon Our Dust" sign, which I found rather conspicuous. My dad heard the knocking long before he knew the story. The Winchester Mystery House was built by a rich old lady who believed she was being haunted by the Native Americans killed by the guns her family's gun factory made. She was told to keep building this enormous, insane house continuously until she died. I didn't sense anything, although the place was like a fun house, but my mom felt it was stifled somehow. Alcatraz, as many of you probably know, is an infamous prison on an island off the coast of San Francisco. Many notorious criminals were there. The place had solitary confinement rooms that we were afraid to go in. The Hollywood Forever Cemetary is the resting place for dozens and dozens of celebrities. A mysterious lady dressed in black is supposed to visit the grave of Rudolph Valentino or someone like that each year, although I think it's an actual person. We went to a Day of the Dead festival there once. And then there's the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. It's supposed to be haunted by Marilyn Monroe or something. We visited it very briefly, and it was being renovated. My mom I think felt the atsmophere was being messed with as well. My mom seems more in tune with the spirit world than I am. I don't know if I've smothered that ability or not.

Yeah, sometimes there's stuff on GH that makes it hard to believe. There are some moments, however, that are questionable...
It's my opinion and yours. I won't argue about opinions

i totally believe in ghosts. when i lived in florida, i was haunted by a ghost.
i first saw him when i was 5. he follwed me when i was alone most of the time. once he attacked me. i felt it, but my mom didnt believe me until i showed her my bruises. when we moved, everyone thought i was sad, but secretly, i was a little bit happy bcuz i left the ghost behind. when we got to georgia, i saw him for a couple of seconds in my dark room. then he dissapered, forever.
freaky much?

Fatalhilarity, i think i know what you're talking about, when you mentioned haunted areas absorbing the energy of negative incidents and an impression is left. I think those are called "imprints."

Yep. I remember TAPS discussing about that. That was probably the cause for the Stanley Hotel hauntings.
Just in case you didn't know, the Stanley Hotel is mostly known - as least to Stephen King fans - The Shining Hotel. ^_^
