Now I must emphasize that I am in no way certain that he was the originator of weasel speciesism. I merely stated that it's the earliest instance of it I've found so far. Ironically, I think we also have him to thank for creating the roots of the Toon Patrol. Like I said before- and I don't think it can be overstated- he created characters (the weasels) that Disney would go on to make a design for, which in turn served as the basis for our favorite weasels.

I think it is racism, because most people only see what they want and not the truth! Here in Germany most people don't know what kind of animals weasels and martens or ermines are. I have met some, they put them in the category of the rodents. This is the big family of rabbits, beavers or guinea pigs. Aren't they stupid?

That's... new to me. Stupid people will never cease to amaze and baffle me. I need to point out again that the being prejudiced against an animal species is called "speciesism"... it's just as bad as racism, but I just prefer to be technical about these sort of things.

I don't find that good as well! Only the fact weasels hunt and kill their food, people think that is bad. I don't find that bad, if I would live in nature, I would do, too! But I would only take as much as I need, not more.

We're working on that, actually... cloning a T-bone steak is something scientists are actually working on. They're at least working on cloning organs for surgery, anyway. Wouldn't that be nice, though? Vegetarians wouldn't have to feel guilty about eating a burger anymore. ...Anyway, I think part of the reason weasels get prejudiced against is that they will sometimes steal eggs from our domestic chickens. At least that's what I'm guessing from some cartoons I've seen. Wikipedia says they sometimes eat the chickens themselves, or rabbits- which, according to the article, is the reason why they were once considered vermin.
It seems to me that humans will get all freaked out and huffy whenever any carnivore gets too close to us. It's particularly bad over here in California... cougars will get shot in golf courses, bears will knock over trash cans, and some raccoons and rats used to try and steal the dog food from our backyard. We've been intruding on the homes of cougars, wolves, coyotes, and bears for years now... just look at Over The Hedge- the comic strip and the movie- we're very nearly experiencing the same thing.
Humans can be very stupid when picking where we build our homes. I think we're pretty much asking for it when we decide to live in the same place as cougars, or even lions and tigers. People over here in CA build houses where mudslides occur regularly, for crying out loud. I find it very hypocritical when we're all "Going Green" with our reusable grocery bags and corn-fed cars... but at the same time we keep building generic, cookie-cutter houses over the top of long stretches of fields where flowers and mustard seeds used to grow... I can't imagine how many times my Grandma has told about how there used to be an empty field where Biege Town #6997 is now...
And where's the animal kingdom in the midst of all this? Usually they're being filmed or something. I only hope for the best, since I'm only a single person without any influence.

Because they're completeley NUTS. (No offence, Psycho and Psycho Fans) They're stupid enough to worry about it. Everyone knows when you worry too much about one thing, it increases their chances of it actually happening. I'm not saying it's bad to worry; I'm just saying that alot of people over there are going bezerk.

One fortunate thing about animal conservation: I've heard somebody wants to be the one to "save the cheetahs", so to speak, which I think means she intends to help expand their gene pool. It's in National Geographic or something.
Back to weasels: the worst thing people have to say about weasels nowadays is that they're sneaky. That isn't really that bad, because it implies some cleverness and stealth on their part- which I think may be true to some degree. To be honest, my knowledge of real-life weasels is lacking. I mean, I love animals and their representations in art, but I know more about cats than anything else. I think I know more about ferrets, actually- who, as many of you know, are related to weasels.

I think that weasels are wery sly, I heve read in a book of animals, that if a weasel trys to catch a rabbit, it doesn't run after it, at first is comes near to the rabbit, when the rabbit hears something, the weasel don't hide, it jumps up and down around the rabbit. And this behavior the weasel shows so long till the rabbit thinks that the weasel isn't a danger. Then the weasel recognizes that the rabbit falls for that trick, the weasel jumps on the rabbit and bites in rabbits' neck to kill. I've never seen that an animal can be sa clever as that.

Oh, yes, weasels are very, very, very clever (With Stupid as an exception) and that's a fact. Cartoon weasels ARE sneaky to a point, and clever, and stealthy, and yes, most DO like money, and most care more about themselves than other peeps. But they aren't evil. No way. People only look at them from just one point of view. I try to see them from all points, so I understand why peeps think they're "Unbelievably wicked rodents" (Said by Daniel, a village idiot) but those peeps are also usually stupid, or don't care about animals, or are just completely NUTS...
