Does anyone feel that people talk about weasels (and hyenas) as racism? If Toon Town was real and they started calling every weasel evil ever since the Roger Rabbit movie, wouldn't you guys think that's racism too?

Yeah, I do believe that is racism. Like on what happened since Sept. 11, almost every American is calling every Muslim a terrorist, even though those Muslims lived here all their lives.

Yeah, maybe the weasels are like, 'EVIL' because everyone's talking about how every weasel HAS to be evil. Imigane growing up in THAT!

Even good ol' Roger himself, naïve and innocent, struggles with his preconceptions and biases about 'em. I really have no clue why weasels get personified as evil. Where do you even get an idea like that? I suppose you could blame the guy who wrote the Mr. Toad story, The Wind In The Willows: Kenneth Grahame.
"Well, you can’t really trust them, and that’s the fact." -Rat
In fact, the Mr. Toad story is the inspiration behind our weasels in the first place. If you take a look at the weasels in Disney's The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad or Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, you'll see that they are without a doubt where the WFRR crew lifted their design. So in some ways, our weasels were born out of stereotyping. Go figure.
By the way, the irrational hatred of a different animal altogether is called speciesism. It's the same thing as thinking big cats are all out to kill us and our livestock- that is, ridiculous.

People actually think cats are murderers??? Oh, whatever. I don't really care about cats. Not the type of person who's a cat-addict.
I never heard of that story O.O

Uh, I think it's a movie? Eh, I don't know why they hate 'em. I never had anything against any species or race, so I have no idea. Then again, the cartoon weasel is way different compared to the original weasel. It's like they don't even match. I guess we, the people, just need to hate some kind of animal, even if they didn't actually do anything to us. I hate that.

People actually think cats are murderers??? Oh, whatever. I don't really care about cats. Not the type of person who's a cat-addict. I never heard of that story O.O Yeah, people are really dumb about big cats (lions, tigers, cougars, etc.). Around here in California, people will shoot cougars (or mountain lions, if you prefer) just for nonchalantly relaxing in a golf course. It sickens me. Ahem- anyway, back to weasels. That Wind In The Willows book is the basis for Disney's The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad and the Disneyland ride Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. If you watch the movie, you'll see where the character designers for WFRR got the look for the Toon Patrol themselves. And if you look at the Art Gallery on the WFRR DVD, you can see a strong resemblance between the weasels in Mr. Toad and the early designs for the weasels in WFRR. The Wind In The Willows is a very nice book, in my opinion. But it's also the earliest instance of weasels being potrayed as no-good troublemakers that I've found so far. (The book was published way back in 1908.) So not only is he possibly the originator of weasel stereotyping (although I doubt it), you could easily see him as the father/creator/roots/whatever of the Toon Patrol. He writes The Wind In The Willows, Walt Disney makes a half of a movie adaptation in 1949 which gives a design for the weasels, and then the folks behind WFRR adapt this design for the Toon Patrol. It's a very strange lineage, really. Who knew some sentimental British fellow who makes weasels look bad could be seen as the cause of the Toon Patrol's very creation?
