He wouldn't be killed, but boy it would hurt. Of course, whether or not his brains spewed out depends on whether or not one thinks it's funny. It isn't Forties style, nor is it what I would do, but that's just one way humor is subjective. Anyway, threatening him with a gun whilst petting him like a kitten I think would work, because I don't think a toon would carry a toon gun unless it did cause some damage. Take for instance Elmer Fudd... he wouldn't use that hunting rifle unless he knew that it would put comical holes straight through Bugs Bunny, and Bugs wouldn't try to stop him if it didn't. Greasy I'm sure would would be a lot easier to convince. In fact, I think the instant a sexy weasel dame touched him on the cheek like that, he'd probably melt into a puddle or something.
...But you wanna know why I think Smarta** is a smarta**? I think it's because of some difficult or unhappy childhood or something. I believe that the Toon Patrol had parents (although there is a weasel in a comic book of mine who calls them his "brothers"), and all the prejudice against toon weasels hardened him. That's my theory, anyway.

So do you mean Smart Guy is sarcastic because he wants to protect him self?

I think so, anyway. It's often the case, isn't it? It's what's called a chip on his shoulder. Just about every single movie I've seen where somebody has a smart mouth or an additude problem gives that person some sort of reason to be that way. Another reason Smarta** is the way he is could be that he wants to be in charge and stay that way. It's a pack leader sort of thing- it could be that Smarta** wants to be the alpha male.

Well, actually, I wouldn't want that. I wouldn't want to be in charge of everything and everybody because it sounds like way too much work. And you can't show much of any emotions as a gang leader- Or else someone will try to use them against you, like Superman and kryptonites. Leaders who show emotions like sadness and bashfulness are supposed to be weak.

...Which is exactly why I think Smarta** acts the way he does!

My answer: ... Why not? I think it adds more to his character. After all, he IS the leader & a smart ass! Pardon my language.

A sexy girl boss would probably be just as sarcastic, possibly even more so. This is a noir film, after all, where women are required by law to have some sort of attitude. Actually, considering what toon weasels often seem to be, a razor sharp wit would probably earn him a great deal of respect. In The Wind in the Willows, the weasels are badmouthing Mr. Toad behind his back. Him? Who him? Did I miss something? >.>

I like what fatalhilarity said, about smartass being hardened from a difficult childhood and life, that was always my idea on the subject too. Sometimes when people are accustomed to negative situations they have a difficult time adjusting to positive ones. Who wakes up one day, out of the clear blue, and says they are going to be a mob boss? That just would be highly unlikely. Considering his perspective of life, something had to of happened to him in the course of it. It would make more sense if, for instance perhaps, society screwed him over a lot, he got fed up, and backfired. Something, although nobody could ever determine what exactly, had to have occured.

I have something good planned for my fic about why Smart A is so cold towards everyone. It's Top Secret for now! I agree. Something really bad must have happened to him in life that changed his attitude. Or maybe that's the way he was created. The latter is likely, but as Hohenheim said on Fullmetal Alchemist, "they start out as innocent children before the Red Stones corrupt them." Please don't ask if you haven't watched the series. Basically, I'm going back to what everyone has said that Smart A started off good, but the bad parts in his life turned him cold. Am I being random or what? To weaselfreak: Please calm down. No one is ignoring you to tick you off. What exactly is your question? I looked at it and I don't understand what is confusing you.
