You notice how the shoulders on the suit are kinda broad? I think he wears that suit 'cause the shoulders make him look more intimidating. And because he looks cool and...dare I say it...sexy.  |

Shoulder Pads are a classic stile, most suits have it.
Greasy and Smart Guy look very elegant with it.

Zoot suits are supposed to have broader shoulders and thicker shoulder pads then standard suits. I tried one on before, and when i felt the pads, they did indeed feel significantly thicker than the pads of regular suits. And Smart Ass' suit does make him look all the words you guys described; elegant, cool, tough, and yes, sexy, for a cartoon weasel anyways. I think Greasy looks nice in his spiffy outfit, too. I've always found zoot suits and fedoras, and basically that type of style, very attractive.
