And you could sooo do anime professionally, Lil' Mug. No kiddn. Some of the places i want to travel have to do with the settings of the book i'm working on. I want to know how it is in those places; i want to smell the air, hear the sounds, feel the vibes... I want to soak up the atmosphere so i can depict it better in the book.

I also would looove to see the pyramids and tombs of Egypt. It always fascinated me... and the coolest of the ancient Egyption gods is definitely Anubis. (in my book anyways) How can it get any cooler than a jackal-headed god of embalming and guide of the dead? ;D

I mainly want to travel all of Europe, primarily England, France, Italy, and Germany. Second priority is Japan, because I just love it's pop culture and such, and third is Australia, because of one of my heroes Steve Irwin. In some ways I want to travel the entire world, but who knows if that'll ever happen? I hope to be able to afford someday... I also would looove to see the pyramids and tombs of Egypt. It always fascinated me... and the coolest of the ancient Egyption gods is definitely Anubis. (in my book anyways) How can it get any cooler than a jackal-headed god of embalming and guide of the dead? ;D Anubis has always been my favorite Egyptian god, too! I've never been sure why- maybe it's just because he's looks so cool. But yes, the fact that he's supposed to be so involved in the mummification process and a psychopomp (the technical term for a guide of the dead) is definitely a cool factor.

Yeah, Anubis is cool looking, isn't he? Bastet is another one of my favorites, just a tad behind Anubis. She's gorgeous! And Thoth is third. ;D I want to travel all over, too. Soooo many places in Africa i wanna see... ^_^

That's quite the coincidence, because she's my second favorite too. I have both of them in a project of mine. I've considered going to Egypt too, and it's just as well since I love the mythology- at least the stuff you see in movies I mostly want to visit the savannah in Africa, just so I can see some lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. I'm less interested in the tribal cultures, actually, and would much prefer just getting CDs of the traditional music there. I like the nature there more the people, to be honest. I really like the traditional culture of Japan as well, especially its art- its music in particular. The koto and the shamisen are two of my favorite musical instruments. I know a tiny smattering of Japanese, and I really want to learn how to speak it fluently, since I intend to involve my art with the Japanese (overseas publications, mostly), and I especially want to not look like an idiot there. I respect their customs, and I want to follow them out of courtesy. I've only been somewhat influenced by manga and anime, actually. I'm very picky- Pokémon, Mario, and Sgt. Frog are the only ones I like. Kind of bourgeois, really. There's Spirited Away as well. I mostly like the standard big-shiny-eyes look, rather than the storytelling style- I which I don't care for at all, to be honest- so a good deal of my cartooning has manga-influenced eyes.
Who else here considers Steve Irwin a hero? It's just amazing how well he worked with animals, and I really admire his dedication to teaching people about them and doing away with prejudice. It's so sad that he died...

It is sad he died, and his children are just too young to lose their father! So sad. It is a real shame that happened! *So you wanna learn Japanese? Cool! Me, i've been wanting to learn Swahili for years! I need to know at least the basics for Tanzania, which has been my priority destination since i was little. Zulu would be nice to know too, and would be handy for South Africa. I love Africa- the wildlife, the scenery, cultures, art, music... Now i wanna make another African mask- i haven't made one for a few years! XD Oh! I really want to go to England as well.

I really want to go to Sicily to go into the catacombs. It'd be fascinating, and spiritual, to see all those rows of mummies. And to see Rosalia Lombardo, nicknamed "Sleeping Beauty" because she's so well preserved. This months issue of National Geographic has an article about these mummies in Sicily, and it's real interesting. If anybody else is interested in such things, i suggest grabbing the magazine at any store to simply flip and take a look at the article and photographs.

I already live in Texas its so hot ehhh I hate it. I want to go to London, Tokyo, Paris, and a Jicarilla Apache Reservation in New Mexico since I'm part Jicarilla Apache so it's sort of special to me.
All of you guys that want to go to Mexico I strongly suggest you don't go. If you do, get as far away from Juarez and Tijuana. There is a gang drug war going on (and I live right next to Juarez so its kind of freaky) and they will just kill you. There have been school cancellations over there because drug dealers went in and told the teachers that if they don't give them money that they would kidnap/kill the students. So many problems down there. My cousin got mugged in Tijuana, but stabbed the guy so he's "lucky" in a way (he might have been killed)
And especially if you are of white decent or look nothing like a Mexican, you're an easier target for them (like tourists) also, it's best to wear your wallet in your sock/shoe because someone will most likely try to rob you. Just be careful about Mexico guys. There are some parts of Mexico that aren't that bad though, you just need to do your homework about it.

Oh, yes. Mexico has lovely areas from what I hear, but like you mentioned, it has rough spots too, so I agree with you. My brother endured some harsh situations down in "TJ" and so did my father, back in the day. Like you said, you just gotta do your homework first before going anywhere. Every country/state/whatever is gonna have its nice, safe areas, and then they will also have their dangerous areas that are best avoided.

Anubis does indeed kick ass! I think I know why, but tell me, Li'l Mug!! One reason I like Anubis is cuz I see parallels between him and the modern day information that is out there about spirit guides. (I believe in spirit guides) ^^
