Maybe the style reminds them on the Pachuco style. Thay don´t wanna identify them selves with it. I don´t know what would happen if someone, who wears this, goes in a town where Americans live. And it was in the 1940s, so long ago and the style was especially for men shoes. However, maybe the style hasn´t arrivet yet at your town, or the people at your town are totally religious, that the women aren´t allowed to wear those shoes, don´t know.

Well it depends where you go in America because there are LOADS of different styles (some nice and some downright creepy) down here. Some people might really like that style and others might think its weird. I don't know much about fashion anyway XD

Yes, I know. I heard in New York live very conservative and classical people and in L.A. live the crazy version of it and you can wear there what ever you want.

El Paso. Not a very big city like New York but it isn't tiny. Not much stuff happens over here, it's usually pretty boring I used to have a teacher from Germany in middle school. He taught science, but mostly did labs. He was really cool. Every once in a while I'll meet someone from Russia or Korea (like exchange students). But everyone born in El Paso are usually Mexican or at least part (like me).

I had heard about it. This city has Mexican roots, right? I find student exchange always very interesting, but I´m not the one, who ever wanted to try. It must be hard to live in a foreign family and can´t speak the language. I had a girlfriend, who came from Russia. It was difficulty to handle her, the Russians are sometimes a little bit strange, but Germans are, too. I live here for so long time, well since I was born and I can say I´m not like them.

Yeah, lot's of Mexican roots. Well my immediate family doesn't really speak Spanish at all (It was my mother's first language, but she only uses it to speak to my grandma or other people who speak it) my dad can't speak Spanish. But it's sad that I can't talk to a lot of my relatives because almost all of them on my mother's side speak it. I had a friend from Russia named Anastasia. She was so nice but she had to go back to Russia.

My friend was named Anja, but here in Germany she got an other name: Gianna. This is an Italian name, but she said she got it cause the German don´t know the name Anja. I think it´s strange cause we have funny names here from Turkish people. I knew a girl she was named Ayse, the s is spelled as sh. And I find the names Murat, Özkan or Sadam or something very strange.
