on a different topic, i mentioned wondering what the Toon Patrol would do in a real-life situation the police handled badly. does anyone have a situation that you or someone you know experienced that the police were NO help?

i'll start. imagine you're a mother looking for a safe daycare center to leave your child at while you're at work. you find a place and do some research on the woman who runs it. you discover that she physically, emotionally, AND sexually abused her own children AND emotionally abused her stepchildren (one of whom is me, that's how i know about this). you report to the police, who say they can't do anything.
what do you think the Toon Patrol would've done if you'd reported her to them instead of the cops?

I'd probably say that they'd at least check it out cuz I know they're all nice guys at heart.
(I know this'll sound REALLY juvenile but...)
Hopefully, they'll first interview her and TRY to get some evidence of this wrong-doing. If that doesn't help, maybe they'll secretly interview her children (whom are probably no help because of what their mom would do to them...) ....
Now if THAT doesn't help, they could probably weasel their way into the home, put up some hidden cameras and tape whatever the heck goes on in the house. Days later, they come with the taped evidence with one abusive women on it.
Now I assume you may know how the rest goes so I won't bother with the whole thing...
(I told you this whole thing sounded juvenile)

sweet! send my stepmother....i mean, the daycare woman...to jail!!! WOOO!!!
ok, i have another one. a father hurt his daughter on purpose (threw her on the bed and pinned her down and shook her) and it left a mark to prove it. the cops said she deserved it for being sassy...even though she was just speaking in her defense after being verbally abused.
what would the Toon Patrol do?

Hmm.
Well, first of all, the police are nutheads for sayin' that to a kid (which obviously shows that those guys don't deserve the badge, and Its sad too, cuz I want to be an officer when I get older)
The Toon Patrol, mainly Smartass, would probably sass the police behind their backs and then deal with the situation themselves. Hopefully they'll get some solid evidence from the girl just to be safe, and then get to an honest, trustworthy judge. (and its NOT Doom.) After that, they get the father arrested, have the girl live a peaceful life with her mother, and just for the heck of it, Smartass gets the crap-cops replaced with better ones.

Heh, I likes you too! I'd love to have this world run by the Toon Patrol. According to your situation descriptions, apparently, the cops are worthless. Its a shame to see the law enforcers act this way these days.

I'm sorry the cops handled your situations so badly! That sucks! Most of the cops my family and i have run into acted like Nazis. Only a few were cool people. I think the weasels would make posotive sure you won the battle. But since they're a mafia, they'd be doing it illegally.

*whew!* i thought ppl would b mad 'cause i made her Smart Guy's girlfriend...ppl on other sites i'm on have been REALLY crappy and posesssive - "MY character's his REAL wife/girlfriend/pick-your-poison, and yours sucks! Get outta here!"
that kinda thing. i was also afraid ppl would think she's too perfect or a brat or something.

Jeez, people are actually like that on other forums? Good gravy. I think I'd need some good anger management classes if I ever finish with one of those, to be honest. I'm bit protective of my OC's, especially when I'm attatched to them.
