I have a new one. Would he care if his gal was a smart aleck to rival himself? I mean, he’s the resident Smart Guy after all. Would he get annoyed if she got smart with him? Like, “I do the wisecrackin’ around here, sweetheart.”

Yeah, I think he would be annoyed- at least if she was directing the wisecracking towards him. That'd be a bit disrespectful, wouldn't you think? A strong relationship ought to have the two involved having respect for one another, after all. On the other hand, if she flung insults towards others, he might find it to be a turn-on. Then again, a woman who challenges him a bit would probably be a turn-on, too...

He'd probably want at least a little challenge...just not enough to interfere with his work. It seems to me that if someone isn't, to quote Shakespeare for lack of original ideas for terms, "too quickly won", that means they're not likely to be the type to bounce from sweetheart to sweetheart. They'd probably be more loyal, yes?

Yeah, I think so. It's a middle ground- not too hard, not too easy. That would make finally "winning" her much more worth it. I can imagine that loyalty is something SA values quite a bit. After all, he's the one who wants to have people loyal to him, right?

I wonder if he would get bored awhile after "winning" her with no more challenge to the relationship...he's not the type who'd use a gal like that, though.

Well, what's a romantic relationship without a few spats? And who knows? The romance itself may be exciting enough...

Hmmm, that's true. Especially if they lead a Bonnie and Clyde lifestyle (which is likely, don't you think?). Forgive me, I'm a little bit obsessed with the Barrow gang. I have a bad habit of romanticizing them... very bad, must quit...

Lawl, I wouldn't be surprised to see Smart ass and his babe in a motorcycle robbing banks and causing a hazard around the country XD

I was thinking more along the lines of hugging and kissing underneath the moonlight, but Bonnie and Clyde works too. XP

*snerk* That just goes to show how much I know about romance. (in other words, next to nothing XP)

Well, you were using the word "romance" in the older sense of the word- exciting adventure, glory, passion, beauty, sublimity... like Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony or Treasure Island. The word "romanticizing" is the most closely related word to this sense of it. Nowadays, most people use the word romance in reference to love- or more specifically, the romance genre. Love songs, serenading, holding hands, knight in shining armor... Romeo and Juliet, and the handsome male lead and the beautiful female lead. That sort of thing.
So either one works for a relationship between Smarta** and his dream girl, really. After all, we're all romanticizing the life of a criminal or a mobster, right? The Toon Patrol aren't exactly good role models...

Heh, I guess I meant either, but I was really thinking the older sense... Ahhh, I think I was born in the wrong century. Not that I'm discontent with where God put me, I'm just sayin'...I'm an old-fashioned gal. ^_^
I imagine those boys would be a VERY bad influence on any gal that dared to start hanging around with them...

I'm a bit old-fashioned, too (by the modern world's standards, anyway), but I mostly lean towards the '60s...
I would imagine a woman willing to hang around the Toon Patrol would have a "bad" side in the first place...

I agree.
A women who hangs out with the Toon Patrol gotta have a good but also got a bad side just in case.

I don't think Smarta** would want a goody-two-shoes anyway.
