Let me rephrase that: Stupid would be the most benign of the weasels in general, not just in your fic.

I definitely think so. You hardly see him doing anything that suggests aggression- just obedience. But there is something that makes me think that he does have a mischievous side: img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/tymime/Weasels/astoldby1.pngThis is from a children's book adaptation of the movie, told from the perspective of Roger. From the looks of things, it was made after Disney had completed principal photography (meaning live action filming), but before they had finished the animation... so all the toons are depicted using original art and clip art. Stupid here looks awfully happy to torment Eddie, doesn't he? Now, I realize that since we see Smarta** with a red suit, that this was done before the designs of the weasels were finalized... but it shows that Disney, at least at some point, considered Stupid to be the type who likes misbehaving. I think Disney's opinion on a character is generally more important than our own, since they're the ones who created the character in the first place. (Gosh, the last time I said that on a Disney forum, I got kicked off. It's not a problem here, is it?) Anyway, I've always felt that while Stupid is child-like and cuddly with the greatest capacity for guilt, sympathy and sorrow, that he is by no means completely innocent. That's because he at least at one point wanted to see Toontown Dipped. I've always thought that because of the tough, unfriendly environment of being around the others and Doom, as well as being the hired muscle for Smarta** and Doom... AND witnessing the grim reality of Dip, he would be made into a significantly, or at least somewhat less warm-hearted person. Deep down, though, I think he still retains his adorable side. I dunno, it's quite possible that he was made to laugh at the misfortune of others, perhaps even enjoy dealing said misfortune, because of Doom. And for those who are curious, there's only one other image of the weasels in this book: img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/tymime/Weasels/astoldby2.pngObviously they hadn't decided that Greasy would be the one flung into the air yet.

i agree about Disney's take on their characters - i try as hard as i can to stay to the characters i am borrowing for fanfics, b/c they were created the way they were for a reason. that sounded unintentionally religious...
